About this event

  • ODYSSEY is the connection between the past and future of Brampton. Brampton's economy was fuelled by immigrant families who came here in search for a better life
  • It is now on us, the next generation, to shape what comes next
  • Join us in-person for 3 days to collaborate, ideate and build solutions that will enable a more sustainable and climate friendly future

Goal of the hackathon?

To bring together students, mentors, speakers and members of the Brampton community from different levels to build, prototype and pitch solutions within the theme of climate change, clean tech and sustainability. Participants will be supported with mentorship, access to tools and resources as well as pitch feedback throughout the event. We will not claim any rights on your projects.

Registration

In order to confirm your attendance in the hackathon, please visit our Eventbrite site in which you will have to fill out your information as well as pay a fee to cover costs associated with the event. We are in no way looking to profit from the event, but the fee will help pay for food, swag, etc.

Requirements

**DISCLAIMER**

Although building a solution is highly recommended, it is not required for a formal submission.

In order for a submission to be considered, participants need to create a pitch deck/presentation that highlights how their solution works in the fight against climate change. Preferences will be made to solutions that are designed to be utilized by municipal and local communities in the GTA. 

Slidedecks need to be in the file format: .pptx or .pdf. We will not be accepting pre-recorded presentations on YT.

  • Best Clean Solution
    Provided to the team who develops the best solution that considers the carbon footprint, manufacturing & output of their solution.
  • Most Innovative Product Design
    Provided to the team who innovates a well-thought out idea/concept that impresses the judges. Preference given to those who create an amazing slide deck + present some type of demo/mock up alongside it.
  • Best Pitch + People's Choice
    Provided to the team or individual who performs the best pitch in the competition pool.
